The Confederation of Public Workers’ Unions (KESK) wanted to make a press statement regarding the 2026 budget on December 20 in front of the Dikmen Gate of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). The police prevented the group from entering the area by blocking the statement from being made around the Assembly. Following negotiations, KESK made the statement in front of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance. The statement emphasized that the draft budget was prepared to the detriment of workers. At the end of the action, police prevented KESK members from carrying a symbolic budget box to the Assembly.
