Thirty-six people, including journalists Emre Soncan and Mehmet Yaşar Durukan, were arrested in the reopened investigation into the 2009 helicopter crash that killed Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu and five others. In the second wave of the investigation, 38 people were detained and two were placed under judicial control. The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office alleged that the suspects participated in “premeditated intentional killing” and tried to prevent the material truth of the incident from being uncovered.
