Two female journalists covering a drowning case in Efeler district of Aydın were attacked by residents of a housing complex. The residents, who were reportedly academics at Adnan Menderes University, extorted the journalists’ motorcycle keys. Security forces did not intervene, even though the incidents took place in front of police officers. Journalists reacted against both the attackers and the passivity of the police.
