An investigation was launched against Sendika.Org reporter Nisan Çıra on a charge of “inciting the public to hatred and hostility” because she shared on social media photographs she took while covering an anti-NATO protest in Ankara on 27 June. Access to Çıra’s previous X account was blocked on 27 June, while access to the “ciranisan” account where she shared the photographs was blocked on 7 July. Çıra said the investigation targeted journalistic activity and criticized restrictions on the press.
