The Küçükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation into “bid rigging” in connection with a 2022 asphalt tender by the Avcılar Municipality Directorate of Public Works. Prosecutors alleged that the tender cost had been artificially inflated by obtaining high bids without conducting a cost study. Twelve people were detained in simultaneous operations in Istanbul, Ankara, Balıkesir and Bitlis. A person receiving treatment in hospital was formally notified.
