Arrested journalist Furkan Karabay’s account on social media platform X was blocked.
Karabay had been targeted for his reports on Ekrem İmamoğlu, Ahmet Özer and Resul Emrah Şahan as part of the investigations into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) and the urban reconciliation. Karabay, who was charged with “targeting people who took part in the fight against terrorism” and “insulting the president”, was arrested on his birthday yesterday and sent to prison.
It has not yet been announced by which authority the decision to block access was taken.
