On July 24, the Day of Struggle for Freedom of the Press, journalist Engin Korkmaz was physically and verbally attacked by shopping mall officials while filming on Şarampol Street in Antalya. Korkmaz, a former president of the Contemporary Journalists Association (ÇGD) Mediterranean Branch, was intervened while filming materials being transported by crane in front of a closed shopping mall. Although Korkmaz showed his press card, the officers threatened and insulted him, demanding that he delete the footage. ÇGD condemned the attack and announced that they will fight for journalists to be free to do their jobs.
