Teams from the Mersin Provincial Gendarmerie Command conducted simultaneous operations on January 9 in Adana, Istanbul, Tekirdağ, Yalova, Bursa, Gaziantep, Mardin, and Van, with Mersin as the center, on allegations of providing financial support to ISIS. With the support of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) and the Directorate for Combating Terrorism, and coordinated by the Mersin Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, 17 suspects were taken into custody during the operation. Searches at the addresses led to the seizure of assets worth 1,820,467 TL, a hunting rifle, and numerous materials and documents. Nine of the suspects referred to the court were arrested, while eight were released under judicial supervision.
