Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that simultaneous operations were conducted in 25 provinces on December 31 against ISIS, resulting in the arrest of 125 suspects. The operations, coordinated by the Gendarmerie General Command and the General Directorate of Security, were carried out in the following provinces: Afyonkarahisar, Ankara, Aydın, Bursa, Eskişehir, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Mardin, Mersin, Uşak, Istanbul, Niğde, Sakarya, Kastamonu, Kocaeli, Hakkari, Osmaniye, Izmir, Iğdır, Nevşehir, Erzurum, Denizli, Kırklareli, Şanlıurfa, and Yalova. On the same day, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that 29 individuals identified as spreading ISIS propaganda on social media had been detained on the instructions of the Terrorism Crimes Investigation Bureau. All suspects were apprehended during raids on 29 separate addresses in Istanbul, and digital materials and organizational documents were seized during searches of the premises.
