Nevşehir Governorate made a statement after the images of a woman pole dancing on a Turkish flag pole in Nevşehir’s Uçhisar town spread on social media.
The Governorate announced that an investigation was initiated by the security units against the woman, who is stated to be a foreign national, and a judicial investigation was carried out by the Nevşehir Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office within the scope of Articles 300 and 301 of the Turkish Penal Code.
“In the face of this heinous incident, which we see as disrespect towards the national and spiritual values of our beloved nation, the issue is being followed with meticulousness and sensitivity by our Governorate,” the statement read.
