Following the detention of Köyceğiz Deputy Mayor Özgür Örnek due to alleged zoning corruption, an investigation was launched against CHP Mayor Ali Erdoğan. It was alleged that Erdoğan did not process a denunciation against municipality staff and changed their positions. The municipality announced that Erdoğan was not detained. Two contractors were also prosecuted in the investigation.
