The Muş Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation into journalist Ceylan Şahinli on the grounds of “making organization propaganda” while she was covering an event related to the January 9 commemoration. Şahinli gave a statement at the Muş Provincial Police Department with her lawyer and said that she was only covering the news as a journalist during the commemoration. The investigation was launched based on the events that occurred when a banner was to be hung on an overpass during the commemoration event.
