An investigation was launched against T24 reporter Can Öztürk due to ‘publicly disseminating misleading information’ for his news report on Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akın.
Ahmet Akın was suspended from the university due to allegations of harassment within the scope of ‘repair-transformation therapy’ for children. Öztürk’s news article dated March 4, 2025 included both the children’s statements and Akın’s responses.
Öztürk was summoned to the Istanbul Security Directorate to testify in the investigation opened upon Akın’s complaint. MLSA undertook the defense of the journalist.
