An investigation was launched against journalist Fatih Altaylı on charges of “publicly disseminating misleading information”. As part of the investigation, a decision was made last week to block access to Altaylı’s YouTube channel and to take the content off the air. Upon the request of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, the decision taken by the Istanbul 6th Criminal Judgeship of Peace was communicated to internet service providers. Freedom of Expression Association stated that the channel has not yet been made invisible by YouTube in Turkey and is still accessible. The channel has approximately 1 million 650 thousand subscribers.
