The investigation opened against model Didem Soydan with the allegation of “making terrorist organization propaganda” due to a social media post supporting the Saturday Mothers was concluded with non-prosecution.
Soydan has shared a photo of Emine Ocak, mother of Hasan Ocak who disappeared under custody in 1995, on her Instagram account with the writing, “Dear mother and other others just as precious as you: I apologise for what is happening. It is unnecessary to even give excuses and explain the heavy reasons for this. A photograph is enough. A mother is looking for her son. Her son, who was detained and disappeared under custody. Their name for me is the definition of love, persistence, heart and motherhood. I apologise to you, the Saturday Mothers, for all that’s happening to you and the treatment you are exposed to. You are the drops of dew falling on landfills of garbage. I apologise.”
