Tahir Yıldırım, who is a stock farmer in Aydın, was summoned to testify due to “insulting the President” after he criticised the underground waters being handed to Qatar on his social media account. In the related social media post, Yıldırım had stated, “What does it mean, friends, to govern underground waters with Qatar? I would like to ask the MPs elected by us, what does this mean? Our underground waters are not Germany’s Volkswagen, not France’s Renault, it’s our life, our honour, let this be known.”
