Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that an investigation was started against Republican People’s Party (CHP) Parliament member Aykut Erdoğdu following the application of President Erdoğan. The criminal complaint against Erdoğdu claimed that Erdoğdu attacked the personal rights of Erdoğan as he announced on social media that he was being “exposed to political blackmail.” In this statement, Erdoğdu had said, “Reporters from ATV and Sabah apparently call the women in my close circle and ask them whether they have an affair with me. I will not give credence to your political blackmail by answering these vile questions of the order you have established, Mr Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.”
