Eight international press organisations launched a report on Press Freedom in Turkey. The report stated that there are more than 120 imprisoned journalists in Turkey and that it is a deep stain in Turkey’s human rights record. Turkey was called to release all arrested journalists, stop arbitrary applications on press, revise the Anti-Terror Law and those related to insult, as well as to end all political intervention against the judiciary.
The report was signed by international organisations for press freedom and journalism, such as: International Press Institute (IPI), ARTICLE 19, The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), European Federation of Journalists (EFJ), European Centre for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF), Reporters Without Borders (RSF), Norwegian PEN, PEN International.
