An investigation was initiated against H.Ö., who allegedly insulted a headscarved female police officer on guard duty in Şile, on charges of “inciting the public to hatred and hostility” and “insulting a public officer”. According to the police officer’s statement, the suspect H.Ö. said to her, “Take off your scarf first, you idiot.” The detained suspect stated that he was drunk and regretted his words. The judge released H.Ö after taking his statement. Security camera footage captured the moment of the incident.
