Journalist Ali Safa Korkut’s “What Do the Data Say? 2024 Internet Censorship Report” revealed that access to a total of 758,716 URLs was blocked in Turkey in 2024. According to the report, 8,762 news articles were blocked, most of which covered corruption and irregularities. The most common reason for blocking access was “violation of personal rights,” with a significant portion of the decisions being made by magistrates’ courts in Istanbul.
