Sur Co-Mayor Filiz Buluttekin was sentenced to ten months of imprisonment with the allegation of “having made illegal organisation propaganda” based on a speech she gave. Diyarbakır 11th Assize Court deferred the announcement of the verdict. Buluttekin was on trial due to the speech she gave in Kurdish during the “Local Women’s Conference” organized on January 7, 2018, when she was the People’s Democratic Party (HDP) Diyarbakır Co-Chair.
