An indictment was prepared against comedians Pınar Fidan and Özgür Tosun due to “publicly denigrating a part of society based on differences in social class, race, religion, sect, gender or regional differences” through the expressions they used against Alevis during a stand-up show. The indictment against the comedians was prepared with an imprisonment claim for up to one year, whereas the comedians stated that their expressions were ironic, humorous and sarcastic. The indictment was sent to Anatolian 21st Criminal Court of First Instance.
