Ankara 7th Criminal Court of First Instance sentenced former CHP Tunceli MP Hüseyin Aygün to 7 months 15 days in prison for “publicly inciting the commission of a crime.” The case was opened over Aygün’s social media posts following Ekrem İmamoğlu’s detention on 19 March 2025. Aygün’s lawyer requested acquittal, arguing that the posts fell within criticism and freedom of expression. The court rejected the request and sentenced Aygün.
