Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance upheld its previous ruling on the appointment of an internal “trustee” in the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency case. The court rejected the CHP’s request for recusal and ruled that Gürsel Tekin will continue to serve as trustee until the appeal process of the trustee decision issued on September 2 is completed. Özgür Çelik, who was elected at the congress in November 2023, was re-elected as provincial chairman at the extraordinary congress on September 24, but could not return to office due to the court decision. Hearing adjourned until November 21.
