Free Journalists Initiative and Mesopotamia Women Journalists Platform announced the April report at Human Rights Association Diyarbakır Branch on May 3, World Press Freedom Day. The report involves rights violations against journalists.
According to the data shared by the Initiative, new lawsuits were filed against two journalists last month; 50 journalists stood trial within the cases against them. 29 of those journalists were sentenced to a total of 144 years, 2 months and 29 days of imprisonment, with an additional 3 thousand TL judicial fine. 17 journalists were detained and 33 journalists were arrested during April.
