Four of the nine youths protesting the explosion at the Ravive Cosmetics factory in Dilovası, which killed six workers, including three children, were arrested. Members of the Youth Committees who wanted to march in Kadıköy with a banner reading “Cause of Death: Corporate Powers” were taken into custody.
The youths were charged with “inciting the public to hatred and hostility.” The four arrested individuals were sent to prison, while the others were released.
Eleven people were detained in the investigation into the explosion; seven employees from SGK and İŞKUR were suspended. It emerged that complaints made to CİMER had been unsuccessful.
