Four youths who were detained in the Sur district of Diyarbakır on the evening of 13 August were allegedly beaten by police while being taken to hospital for a medical examination. Authorities did not disclose why the youths were detained. The investigation file was reportedly subject to a confidentiality order and restrictions on meetings with lawyers.
