Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Advisor to the Mayor and former Head of Press, Publications and Public Relations Department Bedrettin Gündeş was acquitted in the lawsuit filed against him due to “PKK/KCK membership”.
Gündeş had been charged with imprisonment from 7 years and 6 months to 15 years. Mersin 2nd High Criminal Court ruled that there was not enough evidence for the accusation and acquitted Gündeş.
Gündeş was arrested within the scope of the investigation in 2022 and was released with judicial control at the first hearing.
