In the “bribery” investigation targeting Manavgat Municipality, former Mayor Niyazi Nefi Kara was sentenced to a total of 46 years and 10 months in prison. The court convicted Kara on charges of “forming an organization,” “bribery,” “embezzlement,” and “money laundering.” Prison sentences and detention orders were also issued for some of the other defendants in the case.
