On May 20, police detained five people as part of an investigation by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office targeting the Beşiktaş Municipality. The prosecutor’s office conducted the operation based on allegations of bribery and money laundering. Those detained included former Beşiktaş Deputy Mayor Cevdet Çalı and members of the municipal council. Police seized digital materials as part of the operation.
