In the trial of journalist İsmail Çoban, former editor-in-chief of Azadiya Welat newspaper, which was shut down by a state of emergency decree, the file has been sent to the prosecution for the prosecution to prepare its final opinion on the merits.
Çoban, who is on trial without arrest, did not attend the 40th hearing of the case held at Diyarbakır 5th High Criminal Court, while his lawyer Resul Tamur was present. Çoban is charged with “illegal organization membership”, “making illegal organization propaganda”, “breaking a seal” and “violating Law No. 2911”.
The court adjourned the hearing to September 30, deciding to prepare a final opinion and to wait for the execution of the arrest warrants in the file.
