Access to TRT blocked in India

Turkey’s support for Pakistan in the wake of the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan has caused discomfort in the Indian administration. Targeting Turkey, the New Delhi administration took the first concrete step in the field of media and blocked access to TRT World.

With a court order, access to TRT World’s website and social media account was blocked from India. The decision came after Turkey’s political support for Pakistan.

Murji Patel, a prominent figure in India’s nationalist Shiv Sena party, targeted Turkish companies, saying that the contract of Çelebi Ground Handling Services operating at Mumbai International Airport should be canceled. Patel announced that they would organize a large-scale protest if this demand was not met.

Patel said, “Turkey helped attack India by providing drones to Pakistan. Therefore, we will not allow Turkish companies to operate in the country.”
