Kemalettin Gülen, cousin of FETÖ leader Fethullah Gülen, was arrested for insulting Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his social media account. Gülen, for whom a detention warrant was issued within the scope of “Insulting the President” and “Law on Crimes Committed Against Atatürk” within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, was arrested by the court on duty after his procedures at the police station. Gülen’s posts on his social media account “yahya_kema5566” became the subject of an investigation.
