Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation on charges of “publicly insulting the President” due to the subtitle “How is RTE different from Netanyahu?” that appeared on Tele1’s “Türkiye’nin Yönü” program on September 21. On September 23, the Criminal Judicature of Peace issued a judicial control order against Editor-in-Chief Merdan Yanardağ, Managing Editor İhsan Demir and program moderator Musa Özuğurlu, which included a ban on leaving the country and a regular signature requirement. Tele1 management apologized for the statement, calling it a mistake.
