Ekrem İmamoğlu’s Presidential Candidate Office X account (CBAdayOfisi) was blocked from access by the Istanbul 10th Criminal Court of Peace’s decision dated November 13, 2025, and numbered 2025/11774, under Article 8/A of Law No. 5651, on the grounds of protecting national security and public order. Following this block, the account name was changed to CBAdayOfisi1.
The new username used by Ekrem İmamoğlu’s Presidential Candidate Office (CBAdayOfisi1) was also blocked under Article 8/A of Law No. 5651, citing national security and public order as grounds, and the decision was communicated to internet service providers. The X platform has not yet made the account, which has 335,000 followers, invisible in Turkey.
Ekrem İmamoğlu’s personal X account (ekrem_imamoglu), which has 9.7 million followers, was also blocked from access on the grounds of protecting national security and public order, by the decision of the Istanbul 8th Criminal Court of Peace dated April 24, 2025, and numbered 2025/4361. and the X platform made the account invisible from Turkey.
Ekrem İmamoğlu’s international X account (imamoglu_int) was blocked in May 2025 on the grounds of protecting national security and public order, but the X platform did not make this account invisible from Turkey.
