Ulaş Yıldırım, a member of the Revolutionary Youth Union who was detained at Ege University on 22 September, was arrested. Youth organizations reported that private security guards and police intervened against a stand set up in opposition to a circular sent to universities by the Interior Ministry and that 29 students were detained. Twenty-eight of those detained were released, while Yıldırım was arrested.
