Diyar Koç, who was detained during a protest in Nusaybin on January 20 and reportedly tortured, was transferred to Ankara due to his deteriorating health. Koç, who was arrested before completing his post-detention treatment, was first sent to Mardin E-Type Prison and then to Diyarbakır Prison. The prison administration stated that Koç could not be accepted due to the risk to his health and requested that he be transferred to a hospital. Koç was then sent to Gazi Yaşargil Education and Research Hospital and subsequently to Ankara Etlik City Hospital. His lawyers stated that Koç had been tortured and had health problems that posed a risk to his life.
