A disciplinary investigation was launched on December 28 against Mustafa Geylani, a sick prisoner held at Elazığ High Security Prison No. 2, on the grounds that he described human rights violations in the prison during a phone call with his family. The prison administration accused Geylani of “causing panic.” During his weekly visit with his brother Fahir Geylani, Geylani reported that on December 11, 16, and 19, they were subjected to room searches that amounted to torture, harassment, and psychological pressure. According to the family’s statement, the prison administration arbitrarily emptied the cells and changed the search times and visitation hours. Mustafa Geylani’s family announced that they would file a criminal complaint against the prison administration.
