The trial of 25 defendants, including former Sarıyer Mayor Şükrü Genç, in the Kazova Tekstil case was held on January 6 at the Istanbul 13th Heavy Penal Court. The court ruled to release Kaya Emir Dönmez, one of the defendants in custody, due to health issues, while the other defendants in custody will remain in custody. The defendants are on trial for allegedly providing financial support to the DHKP-C in 2013–2014. The hearing was postponed until January 19.
