An attack was attempted on Bursa Metropolitan Mayor Mustafa Bozbey while he was meeting with citizens in the Değirmenönü neighborhood of Yıldırım district on January 6. Recep B., a former CHP Yıldırım Municipality Council Member, and his companions verbally attacked Bozbey and approached him aggressively. The altercation ended when police and security guards intervened. Following the incident, Recep B. and one of his companions were taken into custody. Authorities announced that legal proceedings had been initiated regarding the attempted attack.
