Protest demonstrations were held in many cities on the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute of Higher Education Institution (YÖK) and the police, who intervened in the protest organised in front of Ankara University, detained many students. The police also prevented the journalists who wanted to enter the protest area from taking photographs. Intervening in the protest held in front of Marmara University Göztepe Campus in Istanbul, the police detained 11 students.
