100 people, including children under 18 years old, were detained during the Newroz celebrations in Diyarbakır and 13 of them are still kept in the police station. An investigation was started against the celebration due to “illegal organisation propaganda.”
11 young people were detained in Cihanbeyli district of Konya due to wanting to celebrate the Newroz. 11 others kept at the police station were banned from seeing their lawyers.
