Under a regulation that entered into force on 31 July, powers to block access under Law No. 5651 were transferred from the head of the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) to the Cyber Security Presidency. According to EngelliWeb data, access-blocking decisions by the head of the BTK ceased after that date. The first domain-blocking decisions originating from the Cyber Security Presidency were recorded on 6 August. The presidency blocked access to at least 1,048 domain names on 7 August.
