Pir Sultan Abdal Cultural Association (PSAKD) Zeynep Yıldırım Cemevi President Beyhan Gün’s first hearing was held at the 26th Assize Court. The court ruled for the continuation of Gün’s detention, who has been arrested since December 23, 2024. The next hearing will be held on September 18.
The hearing was closed to journalists. In their statements in front of the courthouse after the verdict, representatives of Alevi institutions condemned the verdict, stating that Alevi activities were criminalized. PSAKD and Alevi Bektashi Federation executives say detention continues despite a “dead indictment with no evidence”
