Sentenced in 1994 to life imprisonment on charges of “disrupting the unity and integrity of the state”, Abdullah Aksu was released from Izmir Type T Prison No. 3 after 31 years of imprisonment. Aksu was welcomed by his family and EGE-TUHAYDER executives in front of the prison.
Speaking after his release, Aksu drew attention to the situation of sick prisoners and gave a message of peace and freedom: “I am hopeful, I hope peace will be achieved soon and our friends will be released.” Aksu left for his hometown Siirt with his family.
Over the years, Aksu spent time in various prisons and struggled with many health problems.
