The Istanbul Civil Court of First Instance took into consideration the request for an injunction regarding the CHP Istanbul Provincial Congress held on October 8, 2023, where Özgür Çelik was elected provincial chair. The court gave the CHP two weeks to submit a defense and asked the Istanbul Provincial Election Board and Sarıyer District Election Board to send all documents related to the congress. The preliminary review hearing will be held on September 21, 2025. In parallel, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office is also investigating allegations of fraud and irregularities related to the congress.
