In Kurtderesi neighborhood of Hatay’s Samandağ district, construction equipment entered the neighborhood at 4:00 a.m., accompanied by the police, as a lawsuit was filed against a decision to rush expropriation for a mass housing project. Residents of the neighborhood rushed to the land to stop the work, and some of them resisted by climbing on top of the construction equipment. One neighborhood resident said, “We will not let a nail be driven here. We are already dead. The houses were destroyed, all the children died. We will not surrender this land. If we die, we will die here,” he said.
