The Constitutional Court (AYM) decided that the mistreatment and torture ban was violated and the investigation was not effectively conducted in the incident on children exposed to the torture of guardians at Sincan Prison in 2014. The high court decided for a new investigation to be opened and for 90 thousand TL compensation to be paid to the children in total.
The case lawyer Senem Doğanoğlu indicated that such news of torture and mistreatment are received from Sincan Juvenile Prison every year. “It happened in 2014, then it happened again the next year, there were the same problems on the last New Years Eve. Perhaps this decree would have a deterrent effect,” Doğanoğlu said.
