In 2020, a lawsuit was filed against Kemal Soylu, who declared his conscientious objection, at Mersin 3rd Criminal Court of First Instance on the charge of “Violating the Military Service Law”.
Soylu, who was previously fined for “evading military service”, is now accused of evading military service for 4 years, 5 months and 11 days.
The first hearing will be held on December 9, 2025.
Soylu’s individual application to the Constitutional Court is still pending.
