An indictment was prepared against Fatih Altaylı: Sentenced to imprisonment of not less than five years and to be tried in a heavy penalty court

An indictment was prepared against journalist Fatih Altaylı on charges of “threatening the President” due to his remarks in a YouTube broadcast.
Citing Article 310 of the Turkish Penal Code, the prosecutor’s office requested that Altaylı be sentenced to no less than five years in prison at a heavy criminal court.
Altaylı was detained and arrested on June 22.
The investigation was launched following a social media post by Presidential Advisor Oktay Saral.
